The fog-enshrouded castle, the crumbling family manor
Old secrets unveiled, curses cast, chains clanking
The mysterious stranger, the young governess
Fear and trembling, murder and madness
Dread, decay, disintegration and death
All are trademarks of the well-crafted Gothic tale!
Below is a video that I created using the covers of vintage gothic romance and horror novels. This montage is set to the music of Carl Orff's classic composition, O Fortuna! from the Carmina Burana.

The morbid, macabre and Victorian-styled art of Edward Gorey is the subject of this short film. I used the images from The Gashlycrumb Tinies wall calendar and set them to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp Minor (Moonlight Sonata).

Three clips about absinthe drinking, including a scene from Bram Stoker's Dracula, a portion of video from Salon.com about the resurgence of absinthe drinking in the United States, and a scene from the movie, From Hell, starring Johnny Depp.

Video I created about Victorian opium smoking, using photographs from the era, as well as scenes from the overly-sensationalistic 1962 film, Confessions of an Opium Eater, starring Vincent Price. This film was inspired in part by the book Confessions of an English Opium Eater, written by Thomas De Quincey.
